All healthy relationships are built on three core components: respect, trust, and mutual affection. These components form the foundation of any strong relationship. Just as the foundation of a building, if one component fails, the others will soon follow suit.

For example, if your partner withholds affection in your relationship, it can lead to an erosion of trust. You may begin to wonder why they suddenly changed their behavior. Are they seeing someone else? Is there someone at work or the gym? This erosion of trust can slowly cause both partners to lose respect for each other. Your partner may feel uncomfortable with the constant second-guessing and doubt your interest in them and the relationship.

At some point, every relationship will face problems with one or more of these core components. In this week’s meeting, we will discuss these components and how they can make or break our relationships.
